In response, Joa Antoun begins offering free tattoos to breast cancer survivors who have undergone a mastectomy, treating her clients’ breasts as a canvas for incredible pieces of art. Although tattoos are still considered a taboo in much of the Middle East, Joa and the women who come to her for help allow these tattoos to become a tool for healing and transformation.
